Michigan is #1!
Wow, it has been quite an exciting past week. All 5 of us made the trek to Ann Arbor the day after Thanksgiving for THE GAME! We walked around campus a bit on Friday afternoon, but most of the buildings were close due to the fact that it was Thanksgiving weekend, and then we had dinner at Pizza House, our very favorite restaurant.
Saturday was an early start since we were staying an hour south of Ann Arbor, but we were out the door right on time. Drew realized he lost ONE of his airpods, so we were a bit delayed while searching for that with no luck. We arrived in campus and headed to Game Day. It wasn't too crowded, and I don't think we got on TV, but the kids made some great signs. Ali & Lauren made a sign that said "I tried to change my password to Ohio State but it was too weak." (With all the O's xed out.) Drew made a sign that said "I am 12 years old and I can kick a 33 yard field goal. He was hoping to attract the attention of Pat McAFee to kick a field goal for the $100k prize!
Brad and the kids walked to the stadium in order to arrive at 11 so they could see the band come in, which is one of the best parts of the game. This game is Drew's 7th game in the Big House, Ali's second, and Lauren's first! Since we only have 4 tickets, I opted to go watch the game in the warmth of BW3. It was PACKED, but I was able to get a seat at the bar. As expected, the crowd was primarily Michgan fans, but there were a couple of Ohio State fans as well.
WHAT A GAME!!! It came down the the last few plays of the game, but thankfully Michigan was victorious 24-30 on a last minute interception. The bar and the stadium went NUTS, it was great! I was so thankful because a loss would have meant a VERY long ride home.
The next game was the Big Ten Championship Game last night against Iowa. The final score was 26-0, and it was a happy household! Since Georgia lost to Alabama yesterday, Michigan is now ranked #1 in the college football playoff, which is going to make for a very exciting New Years Eve when they play Alabama.
Ever since we have come back for England, Michigan has been so much better than they have ever been since I have known Brad. A very fun time to be a Michigan fan!
