First weekend in our new house

Saturday started early....Drew had an 8:00 soccer match about at 20 minute drive away for his debut with Elite FC.  He was a bit hesitant about going because he doesn't have his kit yet.  But I am sure his team is glad he showed up because he scored a hat trick in his debut, and the final score was 3-0!  He was very happy.  He told Brad on the way home "I wouldn't be where I am without Dundonald and Coach Jason.  So true, they have given him such a good foundation for strategy and teamwork.

While the boys were at the soccer field and the girls were still sleeping, I was able to drop Archie at the vet for grooming, picked up the washer at Lowe's, dropped off some dry cleaning and picked up my groceries at Kroger.  All completed in 40 minutes without leaving my car once.  I am undecided if that is good or bad that I didn't leave my car.  It definitely made for a quicker outing, but that meant there was no walking.

The boys were back when I got home, which was unexpected.  Alison was awake, and Brad took her to gymnastics and I carried on with unpacking boxes in the dining room, the basement and our bedroom.  I have now unpacked almost all of the boxes; there are few that contain books or pictures that will be unpacked once we decide where they will go.

The Mulls came for a socially distanced visit in the backyard en route to Florida.  It is always amazing to see good friends!  Lauren and Grace had a nice chat about life, and it makes me so happy to see my daughter enjoying being with my friend's daughter!

Alison had a better experience at gymnastics today, and my talkative confident Alison is starting to come back.  I am sure we have some more setbacks before all becomes ok, but I am so thankful she had a better experience today.

Alison and I did some shopping, which included silly string for all 3 of the kids.  They went out in the backyard and sprayed it all over each other in about 90 seconds.  After they cleaned it up, Lauren said "there are so many middle aged men in our backyard it is making me uncomfortable!"  Well she needs to get used to that since we have a green in our backyard!

It was weird because we didn't have a TV this weekend, so there was a bit of football on Brad's laptop.  Different than last weekend when it was all football pretty much all day Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday, I went for my first run around the neighborhood which was great!  This neighborhood is a bit bigger than the last one where we lived in KY, so I am happy that there will be one than one route to run.  Not as exciting as running through Wimbledon Common or into Central London, but I will take what I can get.  I may be able to run the cart path at some point as well.

We decided to collect the bar that I purchased; we realised that it wouldn't fit in the van, so we had to figure out a different method.  Lowe's has trucks that you can rent; when I called, they said there was one available and it is first come first serve.  We got ready and headed over, and as we were giving our details, another person inquired about it.  Thankfully, we were collecting a grill from Lowe's because the associate said the trucks were only for Lowe's goods.

We got the the Peddlers Mall to collect the bar and it is SO HEAVY......We chipped a bit of the paint trying to get it on the trolley.  Oops.  And we had to enlist the help of a nice stranger to get it up into the pickup truck.  We covered it with a tarp, and used the tie down ropes provided by Lowe's in the truck.  You can tell that neither of us is a scout because as we were driving, the tarp was catching wind like a sail.  But we made it home without the bar coming off the truck and without the tarp wrapping around someone's windshield.  We opted to skip the highway.  We called Christian to come and help unload and possibly get into the basement.  However, Brad decided it is just too heavy and JUST a bit too big to fit so hopefully the movers will be able to move it for us.  Otherwise, we might just have a really nice bar in the garage.

And Brad installed my washer!  I am so happy to have so much space and such a large washer.  I could do all the darks in one load; in London, sometimes it would take 3 loads!  Woo Hoo!!!

Mom came over to hang out and for dinner.  I am so thankful that she can do that!!!  We went through a box of clothes that I came across with the kids old clothes.  We found this t-shirt that mom & I made for the Michigan-Miami football game.  Alison decided to model it on Archie!
